Based on jones twitter comment the way it was structured and phrased you can read it both ways. He will be on Hamilton not. If not Jones is saying they are moving on to win / get into the grey cup and management and team agree to move on without him.

June Jones is supposed to be highly popular with the Ticat players and fans and he did a good job in picking up the fractured pieces and moving a few players around but that was last year.

If he thinks he’s winning his team with the Manziel love he’s a fool and should be checked out for senility.

Players now work pretty much year round to play in the CFL and Manziel appears to have not started. The 6 am photo of him in the boxing gym with his girlfriend wasn’t Johnny pulling a Tom Brady up at 6 am – it’s more plausible that it was a drive by on the way home from a party.

By making silly statements on Manziel, Jones is showing signs that he doesn’t respect the CFL. This year will not be as easy for him as last year.

TRADE BAIT – is exactly what this is about. Jones no doubts lives in the delusional fantasy world where a player who’s never shown a season of discipline in football and who doesn’t train, appears at TC and shoots the lights and pulls an even better season than #1 QB Bo Levi has ever had and runs the board and wins the GC.

Montreal is the bait team (the Cats might have thought Riders) but clearly they’re playing the Manziel tune for Montreal.

Jonesy: Perhaps getting the Cats to 0.500 or just above would be a more realistic goal. Suggesting a Cat GC run at this point even before the first snap is ridiculous and belittles the common sense of the Cat’s fan base. Can you as a coach even repeat what you and the team accomplished in the 2H of the 2017 season with or without JM? It may be harder than you think!

In reply to waveman. That's a good question. Maybe he took Jones' GOAT comment to heart and thought he was making a reasonable salary demand? Or, maybe he really is expecting that he could be here for a few years at at least, and therefore what he makes while here matters more to him? Or, as you suggested, maybe he hasn't got the maturity thing completely worked out yet? Time will tell!

In reply to RFD. judging by manziels new tweets, thats a stretch, but I guess theres a chance. I would've traded the sideshow immediately to montreal, we could've gotten durant for a song as a backup and a mentor to a new 3rd stringer to bring up through the ranks. teams never seem to learn montreals lesson of not having a guy come up through the program as the new guy down the road. one last thing, if manziel aspirations are just to get back to the nfl, whats the point of all this wasted time?
