It’s interesting that both Earnest Jackson and Chris Williams – both 1000-yard receivers with the 2016 Grey Cup Redblacks – had such mediocre seasons on their new teams. Especially Jackson, Mr. Delendable in Ottawa. Did Marcel Desjardins know something? Or was it a case of the new teams not providing the same kind of surrounding talent as Ottawa?

Jackson was an unmitigated disaster based on his numbers for 2016 with a Ottawa but then again he wasn’t used the same way in Montreal, he’s a slot not a wide receiver. How the Als coaching staff thought he could be both probably tells you all you want to know about their abilities. Either that or they emptied the cookie jar (Carter, SJ Green) and never found adequate replacements. Adding to their woes, they do not have a reliable Canadian receiver. Ben Cahoon, Terry Evanshen, Peter Della Riva anyone ?

Considering the season those guys had and how the team went South once Chapdelaine was fired, maybe Chapdelaine was right about them.

This also tells how little Chapdelaine had a say on the personnel decisions. He didn’t have a say about kicking Woods out of his bed at 5:30 AM, so just how much he could improve the team? When asked if the Alouettes could bring some guys to improve the roster, he said his job wasn’t to find players but to coach those Reed and Mack would bring in.

Reed fired Chapdelaine and Thorpe only to save his own butt. These guys knew what a winning culture is, and it starts with dedication, positive leadership and effort. What does Reed know about a winning culture. What has he ever won? CFL All star once and that’s it. This season showed how much Reed is a fraud when he’s either GM or HC.

This team was blown out 7 times in a row since Reed became HC. Says a lot about who is right and who is wrong between Chapdelaine and Lewis.

In reply to CC Rider. And he doesn't care. He lacks dedication and pride. He was all happy after the game in Toronto, when the Alouettes O scored a total of ZERO point. Well, Durant was so good it was hard to put it on Jackson, but he should have affected coming out of this blowout. He wasn't and he didn't care.

That’s what I thought until he took Ducon Rarter’s side talking about his messing up in Montréal. Lewis isn’t such a positive leader. The Stamps didn’t miss him one minute. To me, he played his last season unless a team is so desperate to sign him.

Jackson wasn’t effective this season and Lewis didn’t have the leadership this team needed.
