The future Hall of Fame inductee said last week that he wouldn’t be returning for a tenth season in Edmonton.
The six-foot-four, 288-pound interior defender has posted 282 tackles and 60 sacks over 139 dominant games in Edmonton. The six-time league all-star won a Grey Cup with the team in 2015 and is one of the most disruptive linemen in the CFL.
The 34-year-old is 3DownNation’s second-ranked pending free agent defensive tackle behind Micah Johnson of the B.C. Lions.
Though we’ll have to wait until Tuesday to learn where he’s signing for sure, the rumour circulating around CFL circles is that Sewell will be signing with the Montreal Alouettes.
