Edmonton Football Team releases 1,000-yard receiver Ricky Collins Jr.

The Edmonton Football Team has released receiver Ricky Collins Jr. The veteran was due a $33,000 signing bonus on February 1.

Collins had his best CFL season in 2019 when he caught 78 passes for 1,103 yards and three touchdowns in 17 games.

The 28-year-old has made 186 receptions for 2,434 yards and seven scores in 49 career games with Saskatchewan, B.C., and Edmonton.

Collins opted out of his CFL contract in August to be available for an NFL opportunity. When one didn’t materialize, he opted back into his contract with Edmonton in early October.
