The reported resignation of Edmonton Football Team head coach Scott Milanovich wasn’t an hour old before a familiar face expressed interest in the job.

Chris Jones tweeted at the Edmonton Football Team on Monday expressing his interest in a return to the club. He served as the head coach with the Green and Gold for two seasons (2014-15), going 26-10 in the regular season and winning a Grey Cup.

Jones departed for the Saskatchewan Roughriders one week after winning a championship with Edmonton to become the team’s head coach and general manager. He spent three seasons in Regina before taking a job as a defensive assistant with the Cleveland Browns.

The 53-year-old was rumoured to be on the outs in Cleveland and looking for another job. After taking to Twitter to express his interest in a return to Edmonton, it’s safe to say Jones wants to be back north of the border in 2021.
