Hamilton Tiger-Cats re-sign all-star defensive back Cariel Brooks

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have re-signed all-star defensive back Cariel Brooks.

The 29-year-old started 17 regular season games at boundary halfback in 2019, tying a career-high with 57 defensive tackles and adding one special teams tackle, one quarterback sack, two interceptions, seven pass knockdowns and one tackle for loss.

The five-foot-ten, 200-pound also suited up for both of Hamilton’s 2019 playoff games, including the 107th Grey Cup.

Brooks has played in 46 games with the Tiger-Cats, making 147 defensive tackles, two special teams tackles, 18 pass knock downs, seven interceptions and four forced fumbles.

The native of Miami was named an East Division all-star for the first time in his career in 2018.
