Canadian tight end Luke Willson trying out for Baltimore Ravens

Canadian tight end Luke Willson is getting another opportunity to extend his NFL career, per Ian Rapoport.

The native of LaSalle, Ont. was released by the Seattle Seahawks last week, ending his second stint with the team. Willson played spent the first five years of his career with Seattle (2013-2017), during which the team won Super Bowl XLVIII over the Denver Broncos.

Willson spent the 2018 season with the Detroit Lions and was in training camp with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2019. He has caught 110 receptions for 1,295 yards and 11 touchdowns in 99 career NFL games.

Baltimore has two tight ends out at the moment in Jake Breeland (reserve/non-football injury) and Eli Wolf (practice roster/injured). Willson could provide some immediate depth for a Ravens team that is looking to catch the 8-0 Pittsburgh Steelers in the ultra-competitive AFC North Division.

The 30-year-old was drafted by two Toronto teams — the Argonauts and Blue Jays — but has enjoyed a successful NFL career, earning almost $10-million USD.
