The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced on Thursday that the club has signed American receiver Mekale McKay. The 26-year-old has been on Winnipeg’s negotiation list since his rights were acquired via trade with Hamilton in 2016.

The six-foot-four, 210-pound target spent three seasons (2016-2018) bouncing between six different NFL teams — the Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans, Chicago Bears, and Dallas Cowboys.

McKay recently spent time with the AAF’s San Antonio Commanders and XFL’s New York Guardians. The Louisville native had 22 receptions for 375 yards and four touchdowns in seven games with San Antonio (2019) and 12 catches for 184 yards and a touchdown with New York (2020).
