The Saskatchewan Roughriders have made pay cuts within its organization due to the coronavirus crisis.
Regina Leader-Post beat man Murray McCormick has reported: the Riders made a series of cuts to their business and football operations. McCormick obtained a statement from the green and white regarding the rollbacks.
“Just like many businesses across the province, the Saskatchewan Roughriders have had to make difficult decisions to ensure the future of our storied franchise. While the club has worked hard to ensure its long-term sustainability, the COVID-19 pandemic has put us in a place where the future is uncertain.
“With that in mind, the Roughriders have adjusted the compensation for every employee in the organization. As of right now, no salaried employees have been laid off. This is a difficult time for all of us, and we appreciate your sensitivity as we navigate through it.”
The Riders are the latest CFL team to implement measures to financially survive the COVID-19 pandemic.
