The CFLPA has been in regular communication with the CFL on decisions and planning related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The health and safety of all players is our priority, and we are committed to keeping you, the membership, updated as developments become available.

The decision to cancel upcoming CFL events such as the planned media and content “car wash” with several identified players from March 23-24 is the right one. Teams have been directed to cancel upcoming free agent camps in the United States, and for the safety of players and vulnerable community members, local school, community and other outreach programs have been cancelled or postponed.

The CFL has also cancelled planned regional scouting combines (in Montreal March 13 and in Edmonton March 20) and the CFL Combine (in Toronto March 26-28).

We recognize that training camps are just a few months away and players are eager to be on the field. At this point, it’s too early to discuss the status of training camps or the start of the CFL season. The CFLPA will continue to closely monitor this rapidly evolving issue and remain in communications with the CFL and CFL players regarding this matter.
