The CFL has a long — literal — history of beer snakes.
Just ask Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ fans.

The beer snake was temporarily banned from IG Field in Winnipeg but it was eventually allowed to return.
“We are always listening to our fans. They’ve told us they want a place where they can stand on their feet all game, wear their craziest Bomber gear, and cheer at top volume from the opening whistle until the final snap,” Wade Miller, president and CEO of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, said in November 2014.

The XFL’s D.C. Defenders have started a beer snake tradition of their own. A few weeks ago, one broke out in the middle of their Week 2 win over the New York Guardians.
A couple of weeks — and losses on the road — doesn’t seem to have dampened Defenders’ fans spirits for their newfound love.

The beer snake has taken a little bit of a back seat in Winnipeg lately; perhaps Defenders’ fans will provide the spark needed to bring it back.
And the Bombers have responded:
