Argos to name Jarious Jackson, Glen Young & Mark Nelson as coordinators

The Toronto Argonauts have yet to announce their new coaching staff — however, per sources, the team has decided on its coordinators for the 2020 season.

Jarious Jackson will be the club’s offensive coordinator, fresh-off a two-year stint in the same role with the B.C. Lions. The 42-year-old has seven years of coaching experience following his retirement from playing quarterback in 2012.

Glen Young will serve as Toronto’s defensive coordinator, ending his four-year stint as a position coach with the Winning Blue Bombers. The 50-year-old Scarborough native played ten seasons of professional football including two in the NFL and three with the double blue.

Veteran CFL coach Mark Nelson will be Toronto’s new special teams coordinator following a six-year stint in Ottawa. The 63-year-old has generally worked north of the border in a defensive capacity, though he has extensive experience in coaching special teams at the NCAA level.

Head coach Ryan Dinwiddie has surrounded himself with veteran coaches who are older than he is, providing a nice balance of youth and experience.
