Two Canadian prospects named to 2020 Senior Bowl

A pair of top-ranked Canadian prospects will be strutting their stuff in January at the Senior Bowl.

Neville Gallimore and Chase Claypool have accepted invitations to the 2020 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama in hopes of impressing scouts. The game is an excellent opportunity for highly-touted prospects to showcase their talents ahead of April’s NFL draft.

Gallimore has started 37 games at defensive tackle for Oklahoma and recorded 27 tackles and four sacks as a senior. The Ottawa native was a finalist for the Jon Cornish Trophy in 2018 and is projected to be selected between the second and fourth rounds of the 2020 NFL draft.

Claypool was recently named Notre Dame’s MVP after making 59 receptions for 891 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2019. The Abbotsford, B.C. native has an outstanding frame at six-foot-four and 230 pounds and is expected to get picked in the NFL draft’s mid-rounds.

A number of future first-round NFL draft picks attended the 2019 Senior Bowl including QB Daniel Jones (New York Giants, sixth overall), OL Chris Lindstrom (Atlanta Falcons, 14th overall), and C Garrett Bradbury (Minnesota Vikings, 18th overall).

Head coaches have not yet been named for the 2020 contest, though last year’s bench bosses were Jon Gruden (Oakland Raiders) and Kyle Shanahan (San Fransisco 49ers).
