Chris Streveler is getting several opportunities to show what he can do down south.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ general manager Kyle Walters said during Friday’s press conference that Streveler has an NFL workout planned. According to a source, Streveler has booked “a bunch” of NFL workouts prior to CFL free agency in February.

It is currently unclear for which teams Streveler will be working out.

The 24-year-old has thrown for 2,698 yards in two seasons with the Blue Bombers along with 19 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. He has also rushed for 1,167 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Streveler was especially effective for Winnipeg during the club’s championship run in the post-season. He rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown in the West Semi-Final in Calgary and threw a touchdown pass to Andrew Harris in the Grey Cup.

The South Dakota product has drawn comparisons to New Orleans Saints’ quarterback Taysom Hill as an explosive athlete who can attack defences with his arm and his legs.

If his workouts go well, Streveler may get the opportunity to celebrate a Super Bowl as hard as he partied following this year’s Grey Cup.
