TSN’s Farhan Lalji reported late Wednesday night that Rigmaiden had been offered the position. After a day of deliberation, the veteran personnel man has decided not to accept the job.

Montreal has been without a full-time general manager since Kavis Reed was fired in July. Joe Mack finished the season on an interim basis while head coach Khari Jones led the club to a 10-8 record and its first post-season berth since 2014.

Rigmaiden has spent the past two seasons in Winnipeg as the team’s Director of College Scouting and will continue in that role. He worked for the B.C. Lions for six seasons prior to that in a similar capacity.
