Danny Langsdorf, who once worked with Eli Manning, in Lions’ offensive coordinator mix

The B.C. Lions are searching for an offensive coordinator and former CFL play-caller Danny Langsdorf has entered the discussion.

Langsdorf spent three seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos from 1999-2001 while new Lions head coach Rich Campbell was in the Alberta capital. The Esks led the CFL in total offensive yards in 2001 with 6,606.

Langsdorf’s first pro coaching job came in Edmonton. He left the Esks to become the New Orleans Saints quarterbacks coach in 2002 and served in the same capacity for the New York Giants in 2014 with Eli Manning as the quarterback. Manning completed 63.1 percent of his passes for 4,410 yards with 30 touchdowns against 14 interceptions that season.

Recently, Langsdorf spent three seasons as the offensive coordinator at the University of Nebraska, one year at the University of Oregon as an offensive analyst and last season the quarterbacks coach at Fresno State University.

As a player, Langsdorf was a quarterback for Boise State University and Linfield College. He finished two seasons at Linfield with 2,724 yards, completing 195-of-356 pass attempts (55 percent).

Campbell left Ottawa to become the Lions’ bench boss. After Jason Maas accepted the Saskatchewan Roughriders offensive coordinator job, the Leos are left to find an offensive play-caller.
