Cody Fajardo is unofficially a Canadian citizen.
Fajardo had his truck broken into over the Thanksgiving weekend and like an ultra polite Canuck wished for the thief to enjoy some food from the cash and possessions that were stolen.
“It was weird I got into my truck and I was like ‘I didn’t think I left it this messy’ and things were kind of all over the place, but it was on Sunday and it was Thanksgiving weekend. The thing I can hope most about that is someone gets a hot meal out of that because it was cold,” Fajardo said.

“Just being thankful for the position I’m in to be a starting quarterback in this league and be able to play football for money. There are a lot of people who are hurting out there. My change in my cup holder, hopefully it helped them out and my sunglasses helped them to get a hot meal on Thanksgiving.”
Saturday night while Fajardo was asleep in his Regina home the bandit struck. It must have been a Winnipeg Blue Bombers fan because with the rise to stardom Fajardo has earned and experienced in Saskatchewan throughout 2019, no Rider supporter would take from the new face of the franchise.
Waking up to your truck being rummaged through isn’t the best of feelings. To whoever snaked my sunglasses, car change and Fajardo toy Funko. You obviously needed it more than me. Have a great Thanksgiving with your new gifts. Haha

Fajardo, as he’s shown consistently during his time as the starter at QB, handled the incident with class. Only endearing himself more with the green and white faithful. Nobody deserves to have their belongings taken.
“I was thinking about leaving a blanket and a pillow in there and just saying ‘Hey, just be out by the morning. Instead of getting my window bashed at least I don’t have to deal with the insurance and all that stuff,” Fajardo said.
“The one thing was funny was they took my little figurine. They must have been a Fajardo fan, so that was pretty cool.”
