Montreal Alouettes left tackle Tony Washington suffered what looked to be a serious injury on Saturday.
Washington was in pain and carted off the field after quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. fell on him. The 33-year-old had become a stalwart on the Als’ offensive line since being acquired in the Johnny Manziel trade from Hamilton in July 2018. He has started 25 games over parts of two seasons in Montreal.
Next man up: Landon Rice is in at RT and Chris Schleuger replaces Tony Washington at LT.#ToujoursGame #Montréals

The Als shuffled the big men up front with Washington out of the game. Canadian Landon Rice, also part of the Manziel blockbuster, entered the game at right tackle and CFL rookie Chris Schleuger switched from right to left tackle.
That's bad news for the #MontreALS. Tony Washington is a key component to that offensive line. Unless Tyler Johnstone is coming back sometime soon, they just got really thin at offensive tackle. #Stamps #CFL

The six-foot-seven, 318-pounder has played nine years in the CFL, suiting up in 117 games. Washington has won two Grey Cups, 2012 with Toronto and 2015 in Edmonton. If he`s out for any amount of time it will be a blow to the Alouettes.
