The Riders have elected to sit receiver Jordan Williams-Lambert for their Week 16 game against the Toronto Argonauts.

“We’re going to go ahead and give Jordan one more week, so he’s going to stay home. He’s close, but we feel like he needs one more week,” head coach Craig Dickenson said.

“We watched the film last night, he’s doing well, we’re very happy with him, but we feel like he needs one more week and then I think he’ll be up to speed after that. Just to learn the offence. This is a complicated offence, there’s a lot of moving parts.”

Williams-Lambert rejoined the Riders after being among the final training camp cuts with the Chicago Bears, but didn’t suit up in Week 14 when Saskatchewan beat Montreal.

Last season in Regina Williams-Lambert caught 62 passes for 764 yards and four touchdowns. The impressive campaign led to Williams-Lambert being named the West Division Most Outstanding Rookie.

When Williams-Lambert is healthy and ready for action there will have to be a receiver removed from the lineup. That’s going to be either Manny Arceneaux or Naaman Roosevelt Dickenson said.
