Former Riders’ first overall pick Josiah St. John to sign with B.C. Lions

The B.C. Lions haven’t given up on trying to fix their leaky offensive line.

The club is signing Josiah St. John to a one-year contract for the remainder of the 2019 season, an Oklahoma product who was selected first overall in the 2016 CFL draft by the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

St. John was drafted ahead of a number of impact CFL players, including Alex Singleton, Brandon Revenberg, and Taylor Loffler.

The 27-year-old appeared in 22 games with the Riders and started a number of games last season following an injury to Dariusz Bladek.

St. John signed with the Toronto Argonauts late this past off-season but was released following training camp. He remained a free agent until the Lions came calling.
