Bombers’ Canadian defensive back Jeff Hecht has broken his silence following the suspension of teammate Andrew Harris for a positive drug test.
Hecht was critical of Ottawa Redblacks long snapper Louis-Philippe Bourassa after he received the same two-game penalty for a banned substance found in his system.
But the 33-year-old admitted he treats his teammate differently than opponents.
Hecht says he and Andrew Harris have had private conversations and will continue to. “We have a good relationship. This doesn’t strain it in any way, I don’t think. It’s tough for him, and I’m going to let him deal with it the way he deals with it. (cont.)

The Edmonton native signed with Winnipeg in 2018 and he’s spent two seasons as a teammate with Harris. However, Hecht still doesn’t condone the use of any performance enhancing drugs.
But as far as the situation I’m in with my stance on it; my stance is well known, it’s well documented.” – Jeff Hecht#Bombers

Hecht is helping Harris work through the ordeal and stay in shape for a return to the field.
