Harty suffered a torn ACL in his knee on the first day of Saskatchewan Roughriders training camp in 2018. That came after he had signed to a two-year contract during free agency the same year. He had a setback in with his initial surgery and had to have a revision, which put him out for the 2019 campaign.
Harty had a career-best 26 catches for 226 yards and one touchdown with Ottawa in 2017, the last of three seasons with the Redblacks. The 28-year-old was selected in the second round, 10th overall in the 2015 CFL draft by Ottawa.
