Canadian DL Stefan Charles signs with the Atlanta Falcons

Canadian defensive lineman Stefan Charles has signed with the Atlanta Falcons.

Charles went unselected in the 2013 NFL draft, but the Tennessee Titans signed him to an undrafted free agent contract. He was assigned to the practice squad once training camp ended, however, the Buffalo Bills signed Charles to their active roster that October.

Charles has played in 49 NFL games making 60 tackles and recording five sacks over four seasons with the Bills and Detroit Lions. The 30-year-old spent training camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2017 and Kansas City Chiefs in 2018.

Charles was drafted by Edmonton in the second round, 10th overall by the Eskimos during the 2013 CFL draft. He played university football for the Regina Rams.

Charles would have drawn interest from the Eskimos to come to the CFL. But he’s got another NFL shot.
