Ryan Lankford made some – likely not Redblacks’ supporters – forget the gaffe that sent him out of the nation’s capital.

Lankford took a missed field goal back 118 yards for his new team, the B.C. Lions.

And took a kick-off back 89 yards for a touchdown.

Two majors in one game.

Ottawa released Lankford on July 8 following a return mistake in the Redblacks Week 4 loss to Winnipeg.

Lankford started his CFL career with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, spent two seasons with the Bombers and signed in the nation’s capital as a free agent last February.

During 33 games Lankford has caught 44 balls for 516 yards and four touchdowns along with seven rushes for 72 yards. As a returner, he has 38 punt returns for 341 yards with a long of 42 yards and 85 kickoff returns for 1,944 yards, including a 105-yard major, plus four missed field goal returns for 220 yards.

Maybe the Redblacks gave up on Lankford too soon.
