All-star calibre defensive back Nick Marshall is back on the field with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Marshall missed the Riders 37-10 Week 4 loss to Calgary and had the bye week to heal up.

“We’ll see how it goes, he’s still got a little bit of an issue with the ankle,” Riders head coach Craig Dickenson said. “We wanted him out here learning the schemes. I’ll check tonight and see how he feels.”

He was a Riders revelation who won the starting boundary corner spot in training camp last year and during his first regular season game in green and white he picked off Ricky Ray and returned it for the game-winning points in Saskatchewan’s 27-19 victory over Toronto.

The 27-year-old made 26 tackles, three interceptions, scored two defensive touchdowns and forced one fumble in 13 games on defence in 2018. Through three games in 2019, Marshall has eight tackles and one interception.
