The regular CFL draft took place on May 2 and by league rules, supplemental drafts can happen any time in the 60 days following. Supplemental drafts are held when players miss the deadline for entry into the main draft, usually due to citizenship issues.

Each team has the option to “bid” on the player by forfeiting a selection in the 2020 CFL draft and the process continues based on waiver priority – the reverse order of the 2019 draft – until the highest choice is identified. The team who puts up that pick (or possesses the top waiver priority) gets the player.

The order: (1) Toronto Argonauts; (2) Montreal Alouettes; (3) Hamilton Tiger-Cats; (4) Edmonton Eskimos; (5) B.C. Lions; (6) Winnipeg Blue Bombers; (7) Saskatchewan Roughriders; (8) Ottawa Redblacks; (9) Calgary Stampeders.

The Riders forfeit a the third round selection in 2020 to secure Bennett a potential centre of the future in Saskatchewan.
