Canadian rugby star Adam Zaruba no longer on Riders’ neg list

Adam Zaruba won’t be heading to Rider Nation anytime soon.

The 28-year-old rugby star from Vancouver, B.C. decided to step away from football this winter after brief stints with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017 and 2018.

The Riders have since dropped Zaruba’s name from their negotiations list, relinquishing his exclusive CFL rights.

An explosive athlete with an impressive six-foot-five, 265-pound frame, Zaruba wouldn’t look out of place as a CFL fullback, defensive end or special teams player.

Zaruba is currently focused on the Canadian men’s rugby sevens team that is looking to make waves at the 2020 Olympic games in Tokyo. The final qualification tournament is scheduled for June of next year.
