The brother of NBA star DeAndre Jordan, Avery Jordan, has been released by the Canadian Football League’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
The older Jordan is a current member of the New York Knicks, but is scheduled to be an NBA free agent on June 30. Through his basketball career Jordan has been named All-NBA first-team (2016), an NBA all-star (2017), NBA all-defensive first team (2015 and 2016) and led the association on rebounding two separate seasons (2014 and 2015).
The younger Jordan signed with the Ticats in 2018. He played nine games for Hamilton during his rookie season. But with ratio-breaking Canadian tackle Chris Van Zeyl coming over from the Toronto Argos and Ryker Mathews re-joining the black and gold, the tackle depth chart changed quickly making Jordan expendable.
