The CFL exhibition game in Calgary between the Stampeders and Saskatchewan Roughriders will be played despite the wildfires in northern Alberta that created smoky conditions throughout the day.
The game will be delayed by 30 minutes and begin at 7:30 p.m. The air quality health index remained above 10 for most of the day on Friday which prompted the Stampeders and the CFL to closely monitor the situation.
Alberta’s Air Quality Health Index is measured on a scale ranging from 1 to 10+. 4-6 is considered a moderate risk, 7-10 is a high risk and 10+ is very high risk.
The index must be at 7 or lower for a CFL game to be played. As of 6pm the index was reported at 10+.
