The CFL and the CFL Players’ Association have re-opened negotiations on the new collective bargaining agreement, multiple sources have confirmed.
Teams across the league were set to hold ratification votes on the pact the two sides agreed to last week but at least one team has cancelled their vote.
The CFLPA sent out a memo to all players late last week detailing the terms of the new agreement, which included moderate increases in the salary cap, revenue sharing on new broadcast revenue and increased protection for injured players.
Messages left for the CFL and the CFLPA seeking comment were not immediately returned.
News of the renewed negotiations was first reported by Joey Alfieri of TSN radio in Montreal.
Sources have informed me that there’s an unexpected hiccup in CFL/CFLPA CBA agreement. The two sides are back at negotiating table. Camps were supposed to open tomorrow #TSN690

Being told the issue is connected to the interpretation of the new American vet ratio of 3 🇺🇸 starters having to have played 3 seasons with same team or 4 in #CFL. @CFLonTSNhttps://t.co/5RALolnAzU
