Canadian DB Matt Boateng blazes at Fresno State pro day

Canadian defensive back Matt Boateng burned speed at the Fresno State University pro day.

The Toronto native was clocked at 4.38, 4.39 and 4.53 in the 40-yard dash for an average of 4.43 – lots of speed. Boateng recorded a 4.18 shuttle, 6.78 three-cone time, broad jumped 10-feet even with a 38-inch vertical while pushing out 14 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press at five-foot-10 and 171 pounds.

At least 25 NFL teams were in attendance and three CFL squads, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Calgary Stampeders and Edmonton Eskimos.

Boateng played in 14 games for the Bulldogs last season, one start, making three tackles and one pass knockdown. He played at Arizona Western College in 2016 making 27 registering 27 tackles, two interceptions and two breakups in 12 games. That came after suiting up in eight games as a freshman at the University of Kansas in 2014 putting up nine tackles, five knockdowns and two interceptions.

Based on the physcial attributes, Boateng is an intriguing cover man.
