Stampeders re-sign emerging Canadian receiver Juwan Brescacin

The Calgary Stampeders have re-signed Canadian receiver Juwan Brescacin for one year through the 2019 season, per sources.

Brescacin had career highs in receptions (35) and yards (567) and touchdowns (three) during the 2018 season. The most notable grab came against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats which made highlight shows around North America.

The 26-year-old has 58 catches for 878 yards and three touchdowns in 40 career CFL games. Calgary selected Brescacin in the second round, 15th overall of the 2016 CFL draft. At the Northern Illinois University pro day, the six-foot-four, 227-pound Brescacin ran a 4.62 40-yard time and jumped 36.5 inches.

Brescacin is a big, physical, athletic receiver who seems to be primed for 1,000-yard territory with more targets. Teams around the league were salivating at the chance to sign Brescacin, but Stamps general manager John Hufnagel sealed the deal.
