TSN’s Matthew Scianitti is reporting that the Toronto Argonauts will name Jacques Chapdelaine the team’s new offensive coordinator.
Hearing from #CFL Sources, #Argos will name Jacques Chapdelaine Offensive Coordinator
Right now looks like Toronto’s coaching staff will be…
Cory Chamblin… HC/DC
Jacques Chapdelaine… OC
Wendell Avery… WRs
Dan Dorazio…Off. Line
Kevin Eiben… LBs
Cory McDiarmid… STC— Matthew Scianitti (@TSNScianitti) February 3, 2019
Chapdelaine last worked in Montreal where he became the interim head coach in September of 2016. The 57-year-old remained the club’s head coach in 2017, though he was relieved of his duties following a 3-8 start to the season.
Chapdelaine has previously served as offensive coordinator with Calgary, B.C., Edmonton, and Saskatchewan.
Tommy Condell was the Argos’ offensive coordinator last season, though head coach Marc Trestman had partial control of the offence. He has since returned to Hamilton where he will serve as wide receivers coach.
Chapdelaine will be taxed with kick-starting the production of James Franklin who is likely be Toronto’s starting quarterback in 2019.
