Redblacks to sign all-star DB Chris Randle

The Ottawa Redblacks are set to sign defensive back Chris Randle to a one-year contract for the 2019 season, per sources.

Randle was released by Winnipeg earlier in January after playing 74 games with the Bombers, recording 217 tackles, 12 interceptions and two defensive touchdowns. He was named a CFL all-star in 2017.

The 30-year-old Randle was one of the Bombers’ longest-tenured players at the time he was let go by the Winnipeg football club, originally acquired by the team in February of 2014 via trade just days before he was set to become a free agent.
