The Edmonton Eskimos have signed Canadian punter and kicker Hugh O’Neill to a contract extension through the 2020 season.
O’Neill suited up in 18 games for the Eskimos during the 2018 season, punting 107 times for 4,832 yards and kicking off 84 times for 5,167 yards.
Through 62 games in O’Neill’s CFL career he’s punted 299 times for 13,264 for a 44.4-yard average. O’Neill has also connected on 44-of-60 field goals with a long of 47 yards.
O’Neill was originally selected by the B.C. Lions in the second round, 11th overall of the 2011 CFL draft.
