Odell Willis signs contract extension with B.C. Lions

Defensive end Odell Willis enjoyed the West Coast so much he’s decided to stay.

The team announced Wednesday that the 33-year-old has agreed to a contract extension through the 2019 season.

Willis was acquired by the Lions via a trade that saw him go from Edmonton to Ottawa to B.C. last February. He played in all 18 regular season games this season registering a team-high 11 sacks.

In his 10-year CFL career, Willis has played in 173 regular season games with 240 tackles and 97 sacks.

It was another interesting year for the colourful Willis, who was fined by commissioner Randy Ambrosie in late October for a headshot on Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback Zach Collaros, fired off some nasty Tweets, then apologized.
