Eskimos QB Reilly calls report of Maas losing the locker room ‘BS’

Eskimos beat writer Gerry Moddejonge reported there are indications Edmonton head coach Jason Maas is losing his locker room, if it hasn’t happened already.

“That’s bullshit,” quarterback Mike Reilly said.

“So whoever told you that didn’t come out of that locker room, so I don’t see it that way. How our guys came out and practiced today – if he’d have lost that room you wouldn’t have seen what I saw out there on the field today. Guys know how hard that our staff works.”

The Eskimos bench boss signed a contract extension in May through the 2020 season, however, it’s been a disappointing year in Edmonton with the team hosting the Grey Cup but not making the playoffs.

“What do you mean by lost our team? I don’t know what that means. I don’t know where someone could say that. I don’t feel like the locker room has lost faith in what we doing around here,” Maas said.

“I’m not going to speak to what other people outside of our locker room speculate. If that is the case, I haven’t seen it, and until I’m told otherwise I don’t believe in that.”
