Manziel was at Montreal Alouettes practice on Sunday, the first one after the team’s bye week, taking second-team reps behind starter Antonio Pipkin. Then he missed Monday and Tuesday’s workouts because of the same flu.
For anyone wondering, @JManziel2 isn’t here again today. Third consecutive practice he has missed. #Alouettes potentially go into their next game with only two QBs dressed

Pipkin has gone 2-1 as Montreal’s starter in the Als last three games throwing for 762 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions adding 127 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 17 carries. The 23-year-old’s ability to lead Montreal to consecutive victories has given the team reason to keep him as the starting quarterback.
Manziel has started two games for Montreal – both losses. Manziel went through concussion protocol after his last start in Ottawa on Aug. 24 but served as Pipkin’s back up for the team’s win over Ottawa on Aug. 31.
The Alouettes host the B.C. Lions on Friday night.
