DeVier Posey has been released by the Baltimore Ravens but if Jim Popp has his way, the 28-year-old receiver could return to the Toronto Argonauts.
“DeVier would be a guy we would love to have back with our ballclub,” Popp said earlier this week. “He wants to be back here.”
Posey had seven catches for 175 yards and one touchdown – including a Grey Cup record 100-yard TD reception – in Toronto’s 27-24 CFL title game victory. The 27-year-old had 52 catches for 744 yards and seven majors in 2017, which led to signing a contract with Baltimore.
Popp saw Posey at Ravens training camp.
Visiting the @Ravens and the great @DPo8 at Training Camp today. @Ravens hospitality is top notch every year and always fun to see the smiling face of one of our @TorontoArgos greats! @CFL @NFL #GreyCupMVP pic.twitter.com/VLSO7JRNui

Posey had five receptions for 56 yards and one touchdown in four pre-season games with Baltimore. He was originally drafted by the Texans in the third round, 68th overall in the 2012 NFL draft. The Ohio State product made 22 catches for 272 yards over three seasons in Houston.
