A post shared by P.K. Subban (@subbanator) on

Subban wrote on his Instagram story that he believes Owens ‘should be in the league’.

During 16 NFL seasons, Owens had 15,934 career receiving yards which rank second all-time in NFL history and 153 receiving touchdowns put him third. He was a five-time first-team All-Pro in the NFL. Owens was voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as part of the 2018 class.

The 44-year-old receiver was added then dropped from the Edmonton Eskimos negotiation list. After that Saskatchewan Roughriders head coach and general manager Chris Jones took an up-close look at Owens. That time spent means Jones sees potential in Ownes.

Perhaps Owens is embracing hockey and readying himself for the Canadian culture.
