“I think that he’s going to be released to come outside tomorrow or maybe if it’s Thursday it’s Thursday. As far as I know, he feels good, his testing is good, they wanted to keep him inside today. I expect him back this week, that’s my expectation, but we’ll have to wait and see – doctor’s call,” Alouettes head coach Mike Sherman said.

“It will depend on how he looks and how he feels. And after that workout we’ll see what type of workout it is and if he’s ready to go.

The 25-year-old missed the Als entire week of practices last week while dealing with a ‘delayed onset concussion‘. But he did attend team meetings on Tuesday.

Manziel was rocked by a hit while trying to run the ball over the goal-line in a 24-17 loss in Ottawa last weekend in his second career CFL start and hasn’t stepped on a football field since.

Clearly, the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner is still dealing with the effects of the concussion he sustained in Ottawa.

The team has only two practices this week so it would appear unlikely that Manziel will play Friday night against the visiting Toronto Argonauts.

Antonio Pipkin made his first CFL start and looked promising in a 40-24 loss in Edmonton on Saturday. Pipken is expected to start again versus Toronto.

Manziel started the previous two games for Montreal (1-8), looking sharper in the second outing.
