Alouettes QB Drew Willy suffers injury against Riders

Montreal Alouettes quarterback Drew Willy suffered a concussion and left the team’s 23-17 win on Saturday night in the second quarter.

Late in the third quarter, Willy was sacked on a second-down play and was helped off the field, later jogged to the locker room and did not return to the game. The 31-year-old completed 8-of-15 passes for 157 yards and one touchdown, a 79-yard bomb to Chris Williams.

#Als QB @Drew_Willy suffered an injury to his neck and, perhaps, his shoulder. He appeared to be in some discomfort after the game while getting dressed.

Jeff Mathews came into the game for Willy throwing for 98 yards on 8-of-12 passing. Mathews and Willy combined for enough offence to help the Alouettes stun the Riders in Regina.
