Collaros was acquired in an off-season trade from Hamilton. He won the starting job out of training camp and completed 18-of-25 passes for 203 yards and one touchdown in Saskatchewan’s 27-19 Week 1 victory against Toronto.
Collaros sat out three games due to a head injury in 2016 and also missed time in 2014 after suffering a concussion.
Brandon Bridge is in the game for the Riders.
He started in Week 13 for the Riders in Hamilton last season and guided the team to a victory with 231 passing yards and three touchdowns. Two weeks later, he came off the bench to lead a comeback win against Toronto, finishing 20-of-28 for 292 yards and two touchdowns.
Overall, Bridge passed for 1,236 yards with a 66.6 completion percentage (92-of-138) and 10 touchdowns to just four interceptions while adding 20 carries for 127 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
Collaros will not return. He was sacked in the first quarter while taking a number of big hits including one by Avery Ellis, which appeared to be the one that forced him to leave the game in the second quarter. Collaros was 4-of-10 for 106 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions when exiting the game.

Jones revealed Collaros did indeed undergo concussion protocol after leaving the game.
#Roughriders Head coach Chris Jones said Zach Collaros underwent concussion protocol and will be re-evaluated in the coming days. Riders did not make Collaros available post game. Immediately on the field post game, Collaros said “I’m good,” which really means little. #CFL
