The Montreal Alouettes have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with Canadian defensive lineman Faith Ekakitie, per sources.
The 25-year-old was the top selection in the 2017 CFL Draft by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, the pick was acquired as part of the Drew Willy trade to Toronto. But after one season Ekakitie was released among the Bombers final training cap moves.
Ekakitie played in 14 games making five tackles during his rookie year. He joins Jabar Westerman, Fabion Foote as interior Canadian defensive lineman on the Als roster.
Montreal gives Ekakitie an opportunity to prove himself.
