The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have parted ways with national receiver Matt Coates.
#Bombers have released National receiver Matt Coates. Following a 100-yard game in the playoffs, Coates was just short of being a stone cold lock as the starting X receiver for 2018. But after breaking his foot while training during the offseason, Winnipeg has decided to move on.

Coates signed as a free agent with the Bombers last year and made seven catches for 123 yards in 18 regular season games. Over his four-year CFL career, Coates has 16 receptions for 233 yards and one touchdown in 52 games.
If Coates gets healthy it’s conceivable Winnipeg could bring him back or another CFL would take a look at the reliable receiver.
