Canadian QB Michael O’Connor to attend Argos training camp

Canadian quarterback Michael O’Connor will go to Toronto Argonauts training camp as part of the CFL’s internship program.

“Being able to work with Coach [Marc] Trestman, Anthony Calvillo, who is the quarterback coach there and Ricky Ray, if you look at those three and what they’ve done individually it’s amazing. Put the three together and it’s an opportunity to learn from some of the best who have done it,” O’Connor said.

Last season O’Connor threw for 2,308 yards, 14 touchdowns and five interceptions with a 67.5 completion percentage in eight regular season games last year for the University of British Columbia. The Thunderbirds lost in the Hardy Cup on a 59-yard last-second field goal after O’Connor led his team down and passed for the go-ahead touchdown with 16 seconds on the clock. O’Connor had five touchdowns and 357 yards in the defeat.
