Lions bring back Canadian LB Bo Lokombo

Canadian linebacker Boseko Lokombo has re-signed with the B.C. Lions for one year.

He had been waived by the San Francisco 49ers last week.

Lokombo spent the final month of the 2018 season on the 49ers practice roster and signed a reserve/futures contract afterwards.

Lokombo attended training camp with the Ravens in 2017 after spending three seasons in B.C. with the Lions. He made four tackles and defended one pass in four pre-season games with Baltimore, but got released late that September. Oakland quickly picked him up and after spending time on the Raiders practice roster he was released on October 10. There was a workout with the New England Patriots on October 12 but nothing came of it.

In 2016, Lokombo made nine tackles on defence and 11 on special teams for the Lions. He was B.C.’s third-round pick, 21st overall in the 2013 CFL draft.

“Getting Bo back at this stage in our planning is a great addition to our roster,” said general manager Ed Hervey in a statement.

“He’s versatile, athletic and gives us some very valuable roster flexibility.”
