Eskimos draft pick DL Stefan Charles re-signs with Kansas City

Canadian defensive tackle Stefan Charles has re-signed with the Kansas City Chiefs according to John Kryk of The Toronto Sun.

Charles was signed by Kansas City in January after being released by the Jacksonville Jaguars among the team’s final cuts before the 2017 regular season. He joined the Chiefs 53-man roster for the team’s 22-21 post-season loss to Tennesse in the AFC Wild Card round.

The 29-year-old worked out for the Giants, 49ers, Jets, Bears and Patriots before he signed with the Chiefs. Charles has played in 49 NFL games making 60 tackles and recording five sacks over four seasons with the Bills and Lions.

Charles was drafted by Edmonton in the second round, 10th overall by the Eskimos during the 2013 CFL draft. He played university football for the Regina Rams.
