Stampeders receiver Lemar Durant: goal is to be ready for training camp

Lemar Durant is progressing well in his rehab from a torn ACL.

“That’s the goal is to come back and be ready for camp, probably work my way, not just jump in right away and go, kind of work my way in. I should be ready, but it depends on how the coaches and organization feels maybe they want to give me a little more time just to be 100 per cent or maybe they’ll throw me right in depending on how I’m feeling. Everyone heals different, just a little more time could mean a lot in the long run,” Durant told Mark Stephen on The White Horse Rides.

Durant suffered the season-ending knee injury in a Week 8 game against Toronto and missed the rest of the campaign. The 25-year-old played in seven games for the Stampeders in 2017, making 22 catches for 313 yards and two touchdowns.

Calgary drafted Durant in the second-round, 18th overall in the 2015 CFL draft. The Simon Fraser product has 69 receptions for 885 yards and six touchdowns in 34 career games with the Stamps.

A healthy Durant would be a boost to the Stamps’ ratio and passing game.
