Quarterback Travis Lulay re-signs with Lions

Quarterback Travis Lulay is coming back to the B.C. Lions.

The Lions announced Monday they’d re-signed the 34-year-old to a one-year deal.

Lulay threw for 1,693 passing yards and 10 touchdowns in 2017 but suffered a season-ending knee injury suffered on Sept 8. He was set to become a free agent on Tuesday.

But Lulay has played 10 seasons in B.C., appearing in 128 games and throwing for 18,858 yards (third all-time in team history) with 114 touchdowns.

“Travis is an important part of our team,” head coach Wally Buono said in a statement. “We saw last season that, when called upon, he can still be one of the very best quarterbacks in our league. He is a tremendous leader and we are very pleased to have him back in 2018.”
